There are thousands of reasons due to which Mumbai is called the city of dreams. Mumbai is the best place in India where anyone can achieve anything if he/she works hard enough. It doesn’t discriminate with you based upon your cast or religion. It can truly give the wings to your dreams whether it is of becoming an actor, producer, businessmen, etc.

Let me start with my journey. I am from Haryana and I came to Mumbai for my higher studies. I liked that city so much that I never left. Today I run my own small business in Mumbai along with my part-time job. The lifestyle which Mumbai had given me I would not have achieved anywhere in India. The number of opportunities that you will get in Mumbai unparalleled.

1 The Economy Of Mumbai

Do you guys know the GDP of Mumbai alone is just half of the entire Pakistan’s GDP? Yes, you heard me right. The city of Mumbai has the largest economy in India. As we already know the larger economy means more opportunities. Mumbai alone accounts for a 30% income tax collection of India. But why is that?

Due to its larger GDP, it has produced the highest number of millionaires and billionaires. The richest person in India Mukesh Ambani also lives in Mumbai. It also has a thriving middle class that has a very high income. 

2 Job Opportunites in Mumbai

Mumbai provides the highest number of job opportunities in India. As you already know Mumbai is also called the financial capital of India. All the major banks and finance-related companies have their main operations in Mumbai. Jobs in the finance sector are very high paying. The Indian stock market is also in Mumbai where the transaction of crores of rupees is done on a daily basis. 

Apart from that, there are a lot of IT companies in Mumbai which means more job opportunities. The IT sector in Mumbai has boomed very rapidly in the last decade. Today all the major IT companies have their presence in Mumbai. 

That’s not it all the big multinational companies have set their offices in Mumbai due to its better connectivity with all the major cities of the world and easy availability of talent pool. These companies pay much better than their Indian counterparts and they also provide more job flexibility. 

3 A booming Startup Hub

Mumbai has quite a large middle class whose purchasing power is very high. These people need luxurious services and they are not afraid of spending a lot of money. As a result, there are a lot of business opportunities in Mumbai. If you have a business idea in your mind and you think only the rich or upper-middle-class can afford your product or services then there is no better place than Mumbai.

On a daily basis, a lot of new startups are emerging out of Mumbai. There are many reasons for that like the easy availability of funds and business incubators. Apart from that IIT-Bombay is also promoting startups. 

4 Nightlife Of Mumbai

If you are the kind of person who loves partying and hanging out till late night then there is no better place than Mumbai. Yes, you can believe me on this 100% with your closed eyes. Because I am the kind of person who parties every weekend. Unlike other cities, most of the clubs in Mumbai remain open till 3:00 AM. 

You will find all kinds of pubs and clubs depending upon your budget.

Mumbai is quite a big city so you will find all kinds of food whether it is seafood, north Indian, south Indian, etc.

Apart from that you can also explore find the best cafes, live concerts, and street food. 

5 Beaches and Picnic Spots

Due to its attachment to the sea, there are a lot of beaches and picnic spots in Mumbai. You can enjoy your evening or weekends on any of these beaches. There are a lot of couple-spots in Mumbai where you can spend your evening watching the sunset and breathing the fresh air coming from the sea.

 

6 Bollywood

Bollywood is also one of the important factors in making Bombay ” The city of dreams in India”. A lot of youngsters from all over India come here to make big in Bollywood. A lot of big Bollywood stars came to Mumbai with nothing. They slept on the footpath, ate vada pav(Maharashtra food item), and made their place in Bollywood. 

These people come to this “Sapno Ka Seher” Mumbai to test their destiny(“Kismat Azmane”). And there is nothing wrong in it. According to me, the biggest regret a person will have in his/her life will not be of failure but it will be of not trying.

7 A place for Everyone

Mumbai has a place for everyone. The ” city of dreams Mumbai” is the perfect place to complete your dream whether it is big or small. People come here with nothing in their pocket but they never sleep hungry. It is the place that will teach you to dream big and will give the strength of dying for it. Let me tell you a story about this

A lady and her husband used to live in Utter Pardesh and many nights they have to go to sleep without having food(poverty). Then they migrated to Mumbai. She starting working as a maid and her husband as a daily wage laborer. As time passed she also started Tiffin Service. Now she is the proud owner of 25 Lakh Rupees home and thriving business. She is our maid. Her family made it.

8 Architecture and Transport system

There are a lot of historical places in Mumbai whether it is Gateway of India or the Taj Hotel. Apart from that, it has the most iconic railway station in India which is CST station. It was built during Britishers.  Its architecture and beauty are mesmerizing. 

Mumbai is well connected to every city of India via road, rail, and air.

9 It Gives Purpose in Life

If you live in any part of north India then you would hardly think beyond a government job. But the people in Mumbai think big. It gives the purpose of doing something great in life. They know Mumbai never sleeps. So they work hard day and night.

Conclusion:

These are some of the reasons why Mumbai is called the city of dreams. It can really provide the lifestyle you want but you have to work hard. It can give you fame, money, and a better life.
